How will this role support our team?

The Instructor facilitates courses and assesses learner competence through competency-based curriculum and a variety of assessment and scoring tools. The Instructor is also responsible for contributing to ongoing curriculum revision and support in all aspects of the implementation of the Practice Management Education (PME) program, Specialization Program (SP), and other professional development programs, as required.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

  • Contribute to the planning, design, revision, development, and delivery of curriculum in an online and an instructor-led learning environment.
  • Support the development and delivery of presentations on the College’s programs to education providers and other stakeholders, as required.
  • Respond to wide array of questions from licensees on an ongoing basis (e.g., what to include in an agent agreement, definition of agent, how to develop a business plan, how to manage client accounts, feedback on service agreements, etc.).
  • Provide input into foundational documents (e.g., College Code of Conduct, regulations) when asked as part of consultation.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous quality assurance process for all PME, SP and other programs study materials to see that programs and content remain current and high quality.
  • Document and provide monthly updates on program and course delivery to the Manager.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the annual work plan for the Department in education and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This role will support our team by providing:

  • Knowledge of competency-based education and assessment and adult learning principles
  • Time management, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to manage and prioritize competing priorities and deadlines
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced changing environment as a collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative 
  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills to monitor and influence licensee engagement and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills to speak and present conceptual and practical aspects of the curriculum to licensees, while respecting diverse backgrounds, experience, and individual learning needs

Required Education and Experience

  • University Degree (Bachelor) in adult education, social sciences, business administration, law, or related field
  • 5 to 7 years of adult teaching experience (classroom and online)
  • Bilingual in English and French (required)
