Milestone in the Fight Against Unauthorized Practitioners

The College has reached a new milestone in the fight against Unauthorized Practitioners (UAPs). For the first time in its history, the College has completed 2 major international public awareness campaigns within a 1-year period.

The first multi-lingual campaign ran in March for Fraud Prevention Month, both domestically and in 4 of Canada’s top source countries for immigration – China, India, Nigeria and the Philippines.

Based on the incredible success, including a 7,267% increase in YouTube subscribers and more than 1 million video views, the campaign was extended for 4 weeks in June and expanded to 16 of Canada’s top source countries for immigration – Ghana, India, Kenya, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nigeria, Vietnam, Algeria, Congo, Cote D’Ivoire, Haiti, Lebanon, Morocco, Cameroon and Tunisia.

Our message was simple: If you choose to work with an immigration consultant for Canadian immigration matters, check the Public Register to verify that they are licensed by the College.

Together, both campaigns earned more than 864 million impressions and 4 million clicks across College social media channels and Google Ads. On YouTube alone, total views reached more than 10.5 million.

As a direct result of both campaigns there was a 220.8% increase in visitors to the Public Register, from 421,000 to 1.3 million, compared to last year. Additionally, the College website saw an 85% increase in page views, from 2.6 million to 4.9 million compared to last year.

The campaigns ran across all College social media platforms, Spotify and Google Ads. Licensees are encouraged to like and share the campaign across their social networks.
