How do I become an RCIC?

If you want to become a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), you must meet the following requirements:

Once you are licensed, you must meet your requirements and complete the Ongoing Education for RCICs, including the New-Licensee Mentoring Program.

Information for IPP Graduates

IPPs are no longer accredited by the College. IPP graduates who still want to become licensed must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Achieve the required score on a College-approved English or French Language Ability Test;
  • Hold a valid Letter of Academic Standing, dated on or before December 31, 2022;
  • Successfully pass the EPE within 3 years from the date of their Letter of Academic Standing, but no later than December 31, 2025; and
  • Follow the licensing process to obtain their licence.

IPP graduates who do not pass the EPE by December 31, 2025 and who still want to pursue becoming an RCIC will need to complete the Queen’s University Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law or the University of Montréal D.E.S.S. en réglementation canadienne et québécoise de l’immigration offered in French.
