2025 Annual General Meeting Highlights

Licensees from across Canada joined us in person and online for the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on November 27 in Calgary, Alberta.

The event began with a blessing by Elder Ruby EagleChild from the Kainai First Nation, also known as the Blood Tribe, located in Alberta. This was followed by a video greeting from the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Lena Diab, who recognized the work of licensees in helping newcomers make a home in Canada.

“I know how much dedication it takes to become – and remain – a licensed consultant in good standing. Thank you for your commitment and integrity. Your work is central to strengthening trust in a fair, strong immigration system,” said Minister Diab.

Licensees heard from Stan Belevici, Chairperson of the Board, who delivered the Report of the Chairperson and introduced the Transitional Board of Directors. Mr. Belevici took the opportunity to welcome Interim President and CEO Kate Lamb, and share Annual Report highlights and milestones for the upcoming year.

“We expect 2026 to be a significant year for the College, as the federal government works to finalize our new Regulations,” said Mr. Belevici. He noted that the new regulations, together with the College Act, Professional Code of Conduct and By-laws will mark the final step in implementing a fully comprehensive regulatory regime for the profession.

“As a fellow licensee, I know we have a shared pride in our profession,” he said. “We are placed in a position of trust because that is what the public deserves, and we must uphold that trust by consistently acting in the best interests of the public.”

Tim D’Souza, Chairperson of the Finance and Audit Committee, reported on the College’s Financial Statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. For more details, read the independently audited financial statements in the 2025 Annual Report.

Mr. Belevici and Mr. D’Souza also participated in a Question and Answer Session, which you can read
here.

Following the AGM, in-person attendees had the opportunity to earn one CPD hour by participating in education sessions on Navigating the Renewal Process led by Cathy Pappas, Director, Registration and Interim Registrar, and The Role of a Regulator, by led Victoria Rumble, Corporate Secretary.

The College thanks all licensees who participated in the AGM and we look forward to seeing you next year!
