Tips for Professional Conduct is a new feature in the College Bulletin and aims to address some common issues identified by the College’s Professional Conduct Team.
This month’s tips include:
- Service Agreements: Licensees must provide clients with a service agreement which should include specific milestones to avoid misunderstandings and to manage expectations. It is sometimes the case that licensees do not have a service agreement, or they have an incomplete or unsigned agreement. Licensees are encouraged to self-audit to ensure these agreements are up to the required standard and the Guide for developing your Service Agreement provides a blueprint to help with this.
- Termination of relationship: In the event a licensee or their client terminates the relationship, licensees have responsibilities which include returning unearned fees, providing a detailed account summary and returning all client documents.
RCICs and RISIAs must abide by the Code of Professional Conduct, which sets out the required standards of professional conduct and competence.
