Tribunal Actions - June 2024

Harneet Singh, RCIC, of iSingh Services and Immigration Consultancy, in Lachine, Quebec, had their licence suspended on an interim basis by the Discipline Committee on May 11, 2023, pursuant to a motion brought by the College. On May 9, 2024, the committee lifted the suspension following hearing of the licensee’s motion to seek reinstatement. A proposed Settlement between the parties was presented to the committee which contained various conditions and restrictions on the licensee’s practice to ensure the public is adequately protected. The conditions and restrictions included 1) the licensee filing quarterly reports respecting the volume of their practice and the maintenance of proper financial records 2) continued prohibition of the licensee from representing parties before the IRB and 3) any breach of the above terms may result in the suspension of the licensee’s practice and licence with the College for no less than 30 days and shall continue until the licensee has fully complied with the breached term(s) to the satisfaction of the College. 

Basil Daniel of Daniel Immigration Services, in Toronto, Ontario, appealed a Registrar’s decision to revoke their licence for failure to pay annual fees, fines and penalties to the Registrar Appeal Committee. The committee found that the Registrar followed the proper administrative process and there was no error. The Registrar’s decision was upheld, and the appeal was dismissed. Costs in the amount of $2,000 were awarded to the College.

Sydanie Brooks of Brooks Immigration Services, in Mississauga, Ontario, appealed a Registrar’s decision to revoke their licence for failure to pay annual fees, fines and penalties to the Registrar Appeal Committee. The committee found that the Registrar followed the proper administrative process and there was no error. The Registrar’s decision was upheld, and the appeal was dismissed. Costs in the amount of $3,000 were awarded to the College.
