College staff attended 2 conferences in November to continue spreading awareness of our work and the role RCICs and RISIAs play in upholding the integrity of Canada’s immigration system.

Beata Pawlowska, Director, Professional Standards, Research, Education and Policy, and Megan Marshall, Manager, Professional Standards and Education, presented "Seamless Integration of International Students into Canadian Academic and Social Realms - The Role of Licensed and Competent Student Advisors" at the Canadian Bureau for International Education’s (CBIE’s) annual conference.

The conference was hosted in Ottawa and welcomed more than 1300 participants from 50 countries.

Licensees who attended Continuing Professional Development (CPD)-approved sessions at the conference can report their CPD hours through the College Portal under "Start CPD Learning Log." Search for each session attended by its title.

College staff also attended the Conference Board of Canada’s Canadian Immigration Summit in Ottawa.

The College is a Champion Member of the Conference Board’s National Immigration Centre, leading evidence-based research and contributing to enhancing Canada’s immigration system.

Beata Pawlowska presented "Paradoxes of Provincial and Federal Professional Regulation: Tensions, Risks and Opportunities."
