Buu Kim Tran of NXNW IMMIGRATION, in Surrey, British Columbia, appealed a Registrar’s decision to revoke their licence for failing to enrol in the College’s Professional Liability Insurance program, which is a condition of licensing. The Registrar Appeal Committee found that the Registrar followed the proper administrative process and there was no error. The Registrar’s decision was upheld, and the appeal was dismissed. Costs in the amount of $677 were awarded to the College.

Dinesh Moonshiram of Allied Migration Specialists Co Ltd. in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, had their licence suspended following findings of professional misconduct by the Discipline Committee. The Committee found the RCIC offered services of securing or attempting to secure employment for a fee that is prohibited by law. The RCIC provided false and misleading information to a Canadian Institution and failed to effectively communicate with clients and return their passports in a timely manner. The RCIC was ordered to take 2 Practice Management Education (PME) Courses: Ethical Practice and Client File Management, fined $15,000 and ordered to pay costs to the College in the amount of $10,000. The RCIC appealed the Committee’s decision to the Federal Court and the appeal was dismissed.
