Its role, authority and powers are established in the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act (Canada). The College sets and enforces the licensing, education and ethical standards of the profession in the public interest.

How will this role support our team?

The incumbent supports the College’s public awareness mandate through consistent messaging and brand building in internal and external projects as it relates to planning, writing and project management for corporate communications projects.


Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

  • Provide support and coordination to plan, prepare and implement the College’s corporate communications programs.
  • Research and develop content for corporate communications products while accounting for the unique requirements of specific target audiences (e.g., presentations, speaking notes, letters, emails, articles, e-blasts, annual reports, website, monthly bulletin, news releases, scripts, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the manager to proofread and edit internal and external communications materials for clarity, accuracy and consistent corporate messaging.
  • Provide input into strategic communications plans for corporate communications projects, including the strategic plan.
  • Support the manager in arranging and negotiating contracts with third party vendors (e.g., freelance writers, creative agencies, etc.)

This role will support our team by providing:

  • Ability to proofread and edit internal and external communications materials for clarity, accuracy and consistent corporate messaging
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to apply a proactive and forward-thinking approach to the College’s and stakeholder activities
  • Political acuity to assess confidential matters and to collaborate with the manager and Leadership Team in the development of communication materials

Required Education and Experience

  • University Degree (Bachelor) in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in planning and executing public affairs and communications campaigns to deliver communications projects.
