Statement on Recent False Claims Regarding Travel Expenditure

 

We are aware of recent false claims circulating about our organization’s travel spending.

The travel costs referenced did not cover a two-night stay for a single executive. Instead, these costs were associated with necessary accommodations for a two-day staff-wide series of planning sessions and professional development attended by approximately 150 employees, held annually in June.

As required by the College’s Corporate Credit Card Policy, these expenses were charged to the corporate credit card and transparently reported. As a matter of practice, all expenses are regularly audited.

As a remote-first organization, there is value in coming together as a group for limited periods of time every year. We take fiscal responsibility seriously and are committed to transparency in how we manage and allocate resources.
