Initiating the Licence Application Process 


In order to become a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA), you must first create an account with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (the College). The personal information you provide such as your name, contact information and identification information are used to create and maintain your account in our system, for the purposes of identification and authentication, and to contact you as needed throughout the application and registration process. Additional personal information such as your employment information, background check information, and character/conduct declarations are used to determine your eligibility to become a RCIC/RISIA. 

If you proceed to submit an application to write an Entry-to-Practice Exam (EPE), the personal information you provide such as your educational information, health information, payment information and language proficiency, including any supporting documentation requested by the College, are collected under the authority of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act (College Act). Your personal information is used to determine your eligibility to write the applicable EPE as a requirement to be licensed by the College as an RCIC or RISIA, to assess any requests for assessment accommodations, and to process related payments. We may disclose your personal information for other purposes authorized by law, or with your consent, and in accordance with our regulations. 


If you decline to provide the requested information, we may not be able to process your application for registration and will therefore not be able to consider you for licensing with the College.

Submitting Complaints to the College


In order to submit a complaint, you must first create an account with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (the College). The personal information you provide such as your name, contact information and identification information are used for the purposes of identification and authentication to create and maintain your account on our system, and so that we can contact you as needed regarding your complaint.

The personal information you include in your complaint, including any supporting documentation, is collected under the authority of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act (College Act) and is used to understand your complaint, triage it appropriately, and investigate it accordingly. The personal information may be disclosed as authorized by law (e.g., to law enforcement and/or other government authorities) or with your consent. 
If you decline to provide the requested information, we may not be able to process or review the complaint, and therefore may not be able to address, in whole or in part, the alleged professional misconduct, incompetence, or unauthorized practice.

Becoming CPD Providers


Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Providers with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (the College) must create an account in our system. The personal information you provide is used to create and maintain your account in our system, for the purposes of identification and authentication, and to contact you as needed with respect to your role as a CPD Provider. The personal information you provide is collected under the authority of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act (College Act).

When applying for employment with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (“the College”, “we”, “us”), your personal information is collected by an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Personal information includes your name, address, email address, phone number, work experience and professional background, your eligibility to work in Canada and your educational background. We collect and use your personal information to assess your eligibility and suitability to work for the College. The information you provide may also be used for statistical and evaluation purposes, reporting and planning.  


Personal information about you is retained in the Personal Information Bank PSU 911 and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You have the right to request access to, as well as to request the accuracy of, the personal information we have about you. The personal information you provide us is governed by the Privacy Act and other applicable provincial data protection laws, such as the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (“Québec Private Sector Act”). 

If you decline to provide this information, we may not be able to assess your eligibility and suitability to work for the College and will therefore not be able to process your application.
