Over the past year, the College has undertaken significant public awareness activities that have helped educate the public on the dangers that Unauthorized Practitioners (UAPs) pose to potential newcomers and how to use the Public Register to verify RCICs.

The College’s Immigration Fraud Can Be Hard to Spot campaign encouraged people around the world to check the Public Register to verify that they are not unknowingly working with a UAP.

The campaign earned more than 687 million impressions globally across all channels and drove 1.7 million total users to the Public Register.

Digital ads ran on Facebook, Instagram and Google Search in Canada and 16 of the top-source countries for immigration to Canada. These ads were available in English, French, Hindi, Arabic, Simplified Chinese and Farsi.

The campaign ran on transit ads in Canadian cities from coast to coast in Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Halifax and Saint John. These transit ads generated 160 million impressions.

In addition to the global fraud prevention campaign, the College launched a robust domestic advertising plan designed to strengthen outreach to diverse communities, especially in regions with high newcomer populations across Canada. In total, it earned around 7 million impressions.

The advertising plan included placements in CBC, Canadian Immigrant, Immigrant Quebec, Metroland, The Hill Times and Sunflower Media. To help ensure the College's message resonated with diverse communities, ads appeared in 7 different languages: English, French, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese.

Through sustained public awareness, the College continued to empower newcomers to make safer, more informed decisions about their immigration journey.
