Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Requirements for RCICs and RISIAs

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is an annual requirement for Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) and Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIAs).

Annual CPD is important to maintain and enhance professional knowledge, skills and competence. Non-compliance with this requirement may result in fines, licence suspension or revocation.

Licensees can earn CPD hours by completing either of the following:

  • College-Approved CPD Provider Activities – These are listed on the College Portal, organized by College-approved CPD Providers and do not require approval requests before completion.
  • Individual CPD Activities – These are self-directed activities that contribute to professional development and align with the Essential Competencies for RCIC or RISIA practices. Licensees must submit approval requests for individual activities before the activity start date.

CPD approval requests and reporting of hours must be submitted through the College Portal. Email submissions will not be accepted.

For more information on earning and reporting CPD hours, visit the College website or refer to the CPD Regulation for RCICs or RISIAs and By-laws.
