• Karim Lamaammal, of L.K. Star Enterprises Ltd., in Burnaby, British Columbia, appealed a Registrar’s decision to revoke their licence for failure to complete required practice management education (PME) courses on time to the Registrar Appeal Committee. The committee found there was no error in the Registrar’s decision. The Registrar’s decision was upheld, and the appeal was dismissed. Costs in the amount of $1,500 were awarded to the College.
• Raghbir Singh Bharowal, of Bharowal Immigration & Education Solution Ltd., in Surrey, British Columbia, had their licence revoked following findings of professional misconduct by the Discipline Committee. The committee found the RCIC advised clients to continue working under exploitative conditions and failed to advise clients of their options, threatened clients with immigration consequences if they persisted in raising concerns about working conditions, and fabricated documents in response to a College investigation. The RCIC owes restitution payable to clients totalling $68,875, was fined $50,000, and was ordered to pay costs to the College in the amount of $42,526.67.
• Jeric Mendoza, of J. Mendoza & Associates Canada Immigration Consulting Group Corporation, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, had their licence revoked following findings of professional misconduct by the Discipline Committee. The RCIC falsely attested in their Annual Renewal Declaration that they were not subject to any criminal proceedings and that they did not have any criminal charges since the previous year. The committee found that the RCIC pled guilty to the charges of obtaining sexual services from a minor, making and possessing child pornography, sexual assault and luring, and was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
