Several licensees informed the College they had been incorrectly asked to present College-issued ID by security personnel at Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) facilities, instead of government-issued ID when trying to provide service to clients within CBSA facilities.
Given this information, the College wrote to CBSA to clarify a licensee’s valid government-issued photo identification, together with the Public Register, can confirm identity.
Upon receipt of the College’s letter, CBSA has said a memo will be sent to all security personnel at their facilities to clarify how to identify a College licensee.
We thank CBSA for their swift attention to this matter and expect a smoother process for licensees in future.
